I received my first set of classic eyelash extensions in 2017 and I’ve been hooked ever since. I love the way my eyes pop and how beautiful they make me feel in the morning as I roll out of bed with crazy bed head but my lashes always look exquisite. I find that I wear less makeup now with them but most of all, I love the confidence they give me. Wondering about eyelash extensions? Not sure how they are applied, how long they will last or the maintenance of them?
Eyelash extensions are very different than false lashes. False lashes are applied in “strips” typically, directly glued to your lash line and only last a day. Eyelash extensions are applied by a professional certified lash stylist that will consult with your needs and style preferences all while taking note of the appropriate volume, length, curl and diameter for your natural lashes. Upon selecting the appropriate lash type, a lash professional will also use the correct amount of adhesive to prevent damage. The time it takes to apply a full set of eyelash extensions depends on the lash style selected: Classic, Hybrid, or Volume Lash Extensions. New clients will typically relax and take their “lash nap” for about 2 to 3 hours while a typical eyelash extension fill takes approximately 1 1/2 hours.
Eyelash extension maintenance depends on the strength of the adhesive that’s used and how well you care for your eyelashes at home. I advise my clients to wait 24 hours before getting their eyelash extensions wet, never rub or pull on them, avoid products with oils and glycerin around your eyes (as it will damage adhesive), and most importantly wash your lashes daily with recommended lash shampoo.
I recommend Eyelash Extension fills every 2 to 3 weeks in order to keep your lashes full and beautiful.
